PROJECT VIEW

This project looks into Conditional Design to understand how rules, systems, and limits influence creative results. Instead of designing a final image right away, it’s all about setting up conditions that let results come to life through people joining in, their actions, and how they see things.

Across a series of workshops and exercises, I investigated how simple instructions can generate complex and unpredictable outcomes when followed by different people. The project encourages play, collaboration, and storytelling, while embracing human imperfection as an active part of the design process.

The project is all about three main parts. First, get hands-on with Conditional Design through workshops, chats, and personal reflections. Next, team up to create and run a new Conditional Design activity and see how the rules play out live. Lastly, put together a final piece that shares the journey and results in a way everyone can understand and enjoy.

Instead of focusing on a picture, perfect outcome, this project is all about learning by getting your hands dirty. Scrappy sketches, messy notes, slip-ups, and watching how things unfold are all seen as valuable parts of the design process. The main goal is to get a feel for how logic, limitations, and teamwork affect the creative choices we make, and how meaning can come from the whole system, not just one person's idea.

This project sees design as a lively process a mix of structure and freedom, where the final results are shaped by the rules and the people working within them.
