PROJECT OVERVIEW
In design, affordance is all about those little hints that show you how to use something. It’s like when you see a handle and just know it’s meant for pulling, or a button that clearly looks like it should be pressed. These clues make it easy for you to figure things out without needing a manual. Good affordances help everything feel natural and straightforward, matching what you expect based on your past experiences, so you don’t have to scratch your head trying to figure out what to do.

Reflection
Through this journey, I got a better grip on the idea of affordance, it’s more about how an object invites action rather than something that's set in stone. Looking at both real-world and digital examples showed me that affordances depend a lot on what we’re familiar with, the shape of things, and the situation, making interaction feel natural and almost effortless when they’re done right.
This dive into the topic also made me realize how important signifiers are. These are the little hints that tell us how to use what the affordances offer. If these hints aren’t clear, even the best affordances can leave us scratching our heads. All in all, this exploration has opened my eyes to how small design choices can shape how we interact with things, and how good design subtly guides us without needing to spell everything out.
