PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project dives into using storytelling to look at, make sense of, and share our everyday experiences. I picked a day at Ascot for this exercise because it seemed more like a planned show than your typical outing. Everything from the vibe to the outfits and interactions turned the place into a lively, dramatic scene.
Instead of just describing what happened, this project is all about capturing the vibe of the day. With illustrations, I tried to show the clash between the glitzy and the chaotic, the old-school and the over-the-top, highlighting how storytelling can uncover deeper stories hidden in familiar social spots.

REFLECTION
This project showed me how a good story can turn ordinary moments into something special. Watching Ascot like a performance helped me see how what people wear, how they act, and the overall vibe all come together to tell a story that’s more than just what you see at first glance. It became less about the event itself and more about the characters, the chaos, and the contrasts that made it interesting.
Drawing from this, I realized that storytelling isn’t just about jotting down what happened; it’s about capturing the feelings and experiences. This whole process really drove home how using storytelling in design can make complex ideas, humor, and atmosphere come alive, letting your personal viewpoint shape how a moment is seen and remembered.
